Press Release

Gaydon, 25 November 2010. Aston Martin Racing has launched a new Vantage GT4 for 2011. The new V8 engined racing car takes design inspiration from Aston Martin’s V12 Vantage road car, giving it enhancedaerodynamics and increased downforce. It also has a remapped 4.7 litre engine offering increased levels of power and torque.

As with the current 4.7 litre Vantage GT4, which made its race debut in 2009, the 2011 car is closely based on the V8 Vantage road car with key attributes being carried over including the aluminium chassis, base engine and suspension design. In addition to the engine and aero upgrades, competitors can, for the first time, choose a race-developed Bosch ABS and traction control system. This system has been specifically optimised by Bosch Motorsport for the Vantage GT4 to provide race-enhanced performance in both wet and dry conditions.

The Vantage GT4’s new splitter increases downforce at the front of the car, as well as channelling cooling air to the brakes and radiator. At the rear, the car gains the V12’s larger boot ‘flip’. This works together with a new carbon fibre diffuser and rear underfloor, which create an area of low pressure under the rear of the car, to increase downforce. The redesigned underfloor also channels more air through a new rear-mounted high capacity transmission oil cooler.

Aston Martin Racing has built and sold more than 80 Vantage GT4s to customers around the world in the last two years and it has become the most successful car in its class. In 2010, it won the European GT4 Cup as well as the GT4 class at the Dubai 24 Hours, the Nürburgring 24 Hoursand the Spa 24 hours. The car also has its own one-make series, the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge of Great Britain, which was won in its inaugural year by Chris and Ant Scragg. The new Vantage GT4 will be eligible for this Challenge, as well as the European GT4 Cup and all other series with a GT4 class.

The finishing specialist Senner Tuning AG from Ingelheim near Mainz offers a wide range of accessories for the Audi TT RS, which clearly identify appearance and performance of the sports car.

The Audi TT RS is already configured as a powerful vehicle. But Senner Tuning found a large potential to make the POWER TT even more powerful. A newly programmed engine control unit, a power converter and a valve-controlled exhaust system with sport catalyst in conjunction with an intercooler and a sport air filter increase the power of the series up to 430 hp. For all TT engines, a sports exhaust system with tailpipes is also available by demand.

Senner Tuning assesses each TT individually, regardless of the engine. And Senner Tuning provides light alloy wheels as well. 9x20-inch rims of Varianza T1S type together with Sport 255/30-20 tires complete the outlook. In addition, a good road grip with the large-scale tire support surface and lowering sport suspension are provided.

Furthermore, the tuner adds a few small carbon applications for the body. The carbon package includes a carbon housing and a spoiler on the trunk lid. Senner also uses expensive carbon fibers in the interior - enhancement of the interior is also available on demand. This relates to the finishing of the sport steering wheel, tachometer, door handles and center console.

McLAREN AUTOMOTIVE ANNOUNCES MP4-12C PRICING FOR UK AND EUROPE

  • McLaren MP4-12C priced at £168,500* and from €200,000 in EU
  • McLaren-designed one-piece carbon chassis (the carbon MonoCell) introduces new performance, safety, and weight standards to the ‘core' sports car segment
  • 'Pure' McLaren concept offers unique innovation and service to high-performance sports car buyers

WOKING, UK (24 November, 2010) - The McLaren MP4-12C, the first in a range of high-performance sports cars from McLaren Automotive, goes on sale in the UK and Europe in spring 2011 at a groundbreaking price for a carbon chassis-based car. At £168,500* in the UK, and from €200,000 in the EU, it will be the only car in its competitor set to:

  • offer a carbon chassis (the MonoCell)
  • be conceived, designed and developed within a Formula 1 factory
  • offer the heady combination of 600PS, from a 3.8-litre engine producing less than 300g/km CO2 in a car with a dry weight of around 1300kgs

Antony Sheriff, Managing Director of McLaren Automotive said: "When we embarked on this challenge to design, develop, build, sell, and service the world's most exciting and high-quality high-performance sports cars - from a brand new factory at our Formula One headquarters - we knew expectations would be high. To deliver a true McLaren sports car, and, frankly, a reason to exist amongst great competition, it was clear we needed a unique concept that offered tangible advantages. With a unique carbon chassis as the foundation, and a powerful, but highly efficient McLaren engine at its heart, the 12C offers staggering value: no other carbon-based car can compete at this price-point, or with the 12C's technology and performance.

"Add to that a focus on ensuring that our customers will be offered spectacular care by a focused, financially strong global dealer network, and I believe we have launched a new type of car company, not just a new car. Announcing such competitive prices is a major step for us and another milestone achieved," Sheriff concluded.

The 12C's MonoCell introduces genuine innovation to the automotive industry and new performance standards below £200,000. It is ‘pure' McLaren, with all parts, from engine to switchgear, designed by McLaren.

12C prices in UK and European markets, inc. VAT:
United Kingdom £168,500*
Germany €200,000
France/Monaco €201,000
Italy €201,680
Belgium €203,360

*RRP includes VAT at 20%: on-the-road price adds road fund licence (£950) and first registration fee (£55)

The 12C can be specified with a wide range of personalisation options, pricing for which will be confirmed at launch. There are 17 high-grade exterior paint finishes, including ‘McLaren Orange' - a solid hue that was made famous by the McLaren racing cars of the 1960s and ?70s.

A choice of 14 interior trims can be specified inside the cabin. Performance upgrades include a sports exhaust system, carbon ceramic brake discs, polished-finish callipers and two lightweight forged wheel options. The ‘standard' 12C features just one piece of carbon - the MonoCell - but carbon fibre options will include mirror casings, engine bay panels and engine cover.

McLaren continues carbon innovation; 30 years since McLaren MP4/1 introduced carbon monocoque to motor racing; carbon MonoCell contributes to performance, efficiency, cabin space and driveability

McLaren introduced a carbon monocoque to motorsport in the 1981 MP4/1 Formula 1 car. In 1993, the McLaren F1 debuted a carbon chassis on a road car. In 2009, the last of over 2,200 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLarens was produced at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC); the best-selling carbon-based car ever. Now McLaren's expertise in working with this lightweight and strong material has led to the industrialisation of carbon chassis construction: where production of one McLaren F1 carbon chassis took thousands of man hours, each 12C MonoCell will be moulded in less than four hours. This step-change in manufacturing makes this technology available to sports car buyers in a new segment, and McLaren Automotive is committed to building all of its future cars around a carbon chassis.

The 12C is the first ‘pure McLaren' road car, with every one of its components designed specifically for the 12C. No compromise has been taken in developing the 12C. An intelligent design philosophy means performance is delivered in abundance, but not at the expense of efficiency: nearly 600 hp at less than 300 g/km CO2 are unprecedented statistics. The MonoCell also contributes to a spacious driver-focused interior that defies the 12C's compact exterior dimensions.

Designed, engineered, developed and manufactured by a team featuring extensive experience in McLaren's racing successes, up to 1,000 12Cs will be built in the car's first full year. A £40m manufacturing plant, the McLaren Production Centre (MPC), is currently under construction on a site adjacent to the MTC and will be fully operational by the middle of 2011. The future range of around 4,000 high-performance McLaren sports cars will all be built annually at MPC.

An initial network of 35 retailers with a passion for McLaren's plans, and a reputation for excellent customer service, will be appointed to represent McLaren across 19 countries worldwide. In the UK, McLaren will be represented initially in Birmingham, London, and Manchester, with details of all retailers on the McLaren Automotive website:

Anderson Germany Bentley GT Speed Elegance

The Dusseldorf-based customization expert took off the wraps on its latest creation, a stunningly refined Bentley GT Speed Elegance edition. Amazingly dazzling straight from the assembly line, the luxury performance beast now strikes with even bolder, neater and more unique livery further blended with boosted output figures.

The Anderson Bentley GT Speed package ups the power output of the 610 hp engine to an even more serious 695 hp. To get the extra power, the Anderson Bentley GT Speed program includes an ECU re-map, a modified air filter and a new exhaust system which sheds 17 kg off the total weight of the Continental. The new exhaust system of the Anderson Bentley GT Speed has another party trick in the form of a remote-controlled valve that can be set of three different sound levels.

The GT Speed Elegance edition features an exterior package consisting of a carbon fiber bonnet, air intakes and the deck lid, a front apron, a set of side skirts, and a rear skirt. The interior gets decor strips, while the front and rear center console get some carbon fiber treatment. Black leather seats with white logo stitching make for a nice comfortable ride, too.

In the interior, the decor strips, the front and rear center console including ashtray and the interior light are also made of the carbon material. Passenger seats are trimmed with black leather and white logo stitching.

Traditionally, the fact that all Bentley models are in the finest category of automobiles is the matter of course. Willingness to improve this vehicle by "appropriate action" requires a complete self-confidence. As can be seen from the outcomes, that condition is by no means out of thin air.

And the company ANDERSON GERMANY, known for its bold solutions, headquartered in Dusseldorf, has been justifiably trusted again to awake a Bentley GT Speed Elegance edition and at the same time to make it a vehicle with unlimited possibilities for prestige improvements.

Outwardly, the carbon motor bonnet goes with the almost obligatory air intakes and the deck lid from the same-grade material is less visible. This exclusive body kit from ANDERSON GERMANY consists of a front apron, a set of side skirts and a rear skirt. And owing to LED daytime running lights, the risk to "overlook" this Bentley tends to zero. Due to its exclusivity, this body kit is limited to 150 pieces worldwide.

The vehicle already equipped with 610 hp engine has been improved through software optimization,
a modified air filter and an exhaust system with additional Rennkats’ 85 hp, whereby 695 hp and a dizzying torque are available now. The remote-controlled valve controlling the exhaust can operate in three noise levels. Incidentally, only the modified exhaust system saves up to 17 kg.

In the interior, the decor strips, the front and rear center console including ashtray and the interior light are also made of the precious carbon material. Passenger seats are trimmed with black leather and white logo stitching.
