2010 SEMA - Hyundai Equus DUB Edition

Hyundai's new flagship Equus will get an "urban" appearance makeover for the 2010 SEMA Show, courtesy of DUB magazine. The Equus is a joint production of Hyundai and the tuner publication and will encompass exterior, interior and audio upgrades.

The DUB Hyundai Equus features a custom body kit, a new mesh grille, tinted windows and tail lights and a two-tone exterior paint job. The new body kit of the DUB Hyundai Equus includes new front and rear bumpers, side skirts and LED daytime running lights. The DUB Hyundai Equus sits on 24-inch TIS modular style 10 wheels with Pirelli PZero Nero tires and an aftermarket suspension system.

The interior will be fitted with Infiniti Kappa components including nine Infiniti Kappa Series speakers, KAPPA ONE mono, and KAPPA FOUR four-channel amplifiers. Additionally, the interior of the Equus will feature DUB Design custom leather and suede, a DUB Design illuminated headliner, and custom rear bucket seats. Your time in the comfy interior will be spent listening to the new world-class Lexicon audio system that will also be offered.

The new 2011 Hyundai Equus is the car that the Korean automaker hopes will help them leap into the high end luxury market but the $58-64k price tag could be a little much for the average Hyundai buyer.  Only time will tell whether or not the 2011 Equus will pan out for Hyundai but in the meantime, the Equus looks like it will make a great show car at the 2010 SEMA Show.

Hyundai’s Intelligent Luxury Platform Gets a Dose of DUB Magazine’s Creative, Urban Influence

Well known for prolific designs, the fabricators at DUB Magazine have teamed up with Hyundai to customize an Equus, Hyundai’s all-new luxury flagship sedan, worthy of this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The DUB Edition Hyundai Equus will debut featuring exterior, interior and audio modifications that tuners will not mistake for anything but the DUB Magazine style.

“We know that SEMA show-goers look forward to seeing the cool new cars like Equus and the unique ways we customize them,” said Myles Kovacs,

president and co-founder, DUB Magazine. “With this car we tried to give tuners an idea of what modifications can be done within the luxury segment.”

Plans for the exterior modifications on the DUB Edition Hyundai Equus include Trex DUB Design mesh grille, DUB Design custom body kit, tinted windows and tail lights, and a custom two-tone, gloss black-and-matte charcoal paint job. The Equus will also feature a DUB Edition custom suspension riding on 24-inch TIS modular style 10 wheels with Pirelli Pzero Nero Tires.

No DUB Magazine custom would be complete without an audio enhancement. Therefore, to add to the already world-class Lexicon audio system that comes from the factory, DUB Design is building a custom trunk enclosure that will be fitted with Infiniti Kappa components including nine Infiniti Kappa Series speakers, KAPPA ONE mono and KAPPA FOUR four-channel amplifiers. Additionally, the interior of the Equus will feature DUB Design custom leather and suede, a DUB Design illuminated headliner and custom rear bucket seats.

The DUB Edition Hyundai Equus will be shown in the Hyundai Booth along with other specially designed cars exclusively built for this year’s SEMA Show.

2011 BMW 5 Series Police

BMW has released new 2011 BMW 5 Police Series. Both of them will equip the UK police forces from 52 stations. The 2011 BMW 5 Series police car force will include the 530d Saloon and Touring. Apart from the 2011 BMW 5 Series police car, BMW will also supply the British forces with the following models: 330d Saloon and Touring, X1, X3 xDrive20d, X5 xDrive30d and xDrive40d.

Aside from the latest 5 Series models, which are an all-new addition to Police fleets, BMW also announced a specially modified 330d Saloon Interceptor as its High Performance Pursuit Vehicle.

BMW is the only supplier of the production of packages installed special equipment for emergency warning equipment that can be important the support of BMW Service Centres in the UK with a three year warranty from BMW. Generally, vehicles are built by manufacturers must be removed for the installation of this equipment back. BMW has been approved as a key supplier for all 52 Police forces around the country by the National Policing Improvement Agency. The announcement means some of BMW’s class-leading products will become standard issue to the UK’s Policemen and women as part of the four-year deal.

The news will see cars such as the BMW 330d Saloon and Touring, 530d Saloon and Touring, all variants of X1, X3 xDrive20d, X5 xDrive30d and xDrive40d, and the R1200 RF-P Police bike all take a high profile role in the fight against crime. Some of the vehicles will also be unmarked and perform less visible policing roles.

While the latest 5 Series will be an all-new addition to most Police fleets it is the BMW 330d Saloon Interceptor model that is sure to cause the most interest. Billed as a High Performance Pursuit Vehicle, the modified BMW is capable of a rapid response role while also fulfilling the environmental and running cost demands all forces have to think of too. Full technical details of the car can not be specified for security reasons.

Of the 52 UK Police forces, virtually all operate BMW Authorities products of one form or another, while two thirds operate high-levels and nearly half of those operate with a near BMW High Performance only fleet. When the above models are added to the rest of the BMW Authorities range of specialist vehicles, such as medical and fire tenders, considerable savings through economies of scale can be made in training, tooling and parts.

BMW is unique in offering production line installed special equipment packages for Emergency Warning equipment which importantly can
be supported by BMW Service Centres throughout the UK with a three-year BMW warranty. Ordinarily vehicles are built by manufacturers only to be disassembled for the retrospective installation of such equipment. The RESPoNSe (Responder EMERGENCY SERVICE Package official eNabled Systeme) package provides vehicles with a high-level of emergency service role-equipment pre installed allowing for a near ‘Plug & Play’ car, thus significantly reducing the time into service and the need for third-parties to start cutting into the vehicle’s wiring harness.
